PPC - About us
The Photographer’s Print Co-operative (PPC), founded in 2024, is a democratic photography collective whereby the continuation of new photographic and visual storytelling work is supported through the sale of editioned prints. Through creating a supportive community, the co-op strives to help enable photographer’s to continue their work and bring further awareness to the project’s and stories they create.
This platform is more than a print sale. It is a place to discuss, experiment with and learn about photography and a maker’s process. With each print sale a feature about the maker will be published with topics covering how the print, image or project was created, the maker’s ideas surrounding the process of image making and thoughts on the industry as a whole, amongst other discussions. This give’s further value to the print’s purchased as it will come with a personal and informative background.
Taking inspiration from record labels, our prints will be publishes as coded ‘releases’, generally following a uniform structure of four curated prints selected from a photographer’s body of work. We also will experiment with our creative process, creating new projects collaboratively.
The PPC also plans to invite other photographers outside of our co-operative to release prints through our platform.
The goal of the PCC is to create an open and candid space for artists and creatives to come together to make our industry more accessible and open. In the future we are looking to support the development and continuation of a photographers practice by holding events, exhibitions, talks and workshops. Watch this space….
